North Georgia Campgrounds & RV Parks

Dozens of campgrounds and RV parks are found all over north Georgia, convenient to the Appalachian Mountains, the Chattahoochee National Forest and several lakes and historical sites. You have the choice of staying at a tent campsite, trailer or RV campground and in cottages at a camp with mountain, lake or wooded views.


In Dahlonega, stay at the Etowah River Campground, featuring 28 acres with tent and full hookup RV sites 10minutes away from downtown Dahlonega. On 1,800 feet of the Etowah, you can fish and tube; the pet-friendly camp also includes a playground and laundry facilities. At Talona Creek Campground in Talking Rock near Jasper and Elijay, you can participate in horseback riding and training, nearby swimming and boating and close hiking and biking while staying in your tent or RV at full hookup sites.

RV Parks

In Blairsville near Brasstown Bald mountain, you’ll find Lake Nottely RV Park & Campground, offering lake and mountain views, wooded and paved sites, fishing and hiking, a pavilion and wireless Internet. In Blue Ridge at the Chattahoochee National Forest, stay at the pet-friendly Blue Ridge Mineral Springs RV Park, complete with a heated swimming pool, a pavilion, a grill and smoker, picnic areas, fire rings and horseshoes and wireless Internet.

State Parks

You have about a dozen camping choices at official Georgia State Parks in northeast Georgia. In northwest Georgia’s Rising Fawn, visit Cloudland Canyon State Park for tent, RV and cottage camping on nearly 3,500 acres with hiking, fishing and tennis. The centrally located Dawsonville in north Georgia features Amicalola Falls State Park and Lodge, an 800-acre facility with tent and RV camping, cottages and a lodge. It also offers 12 miles of hiking trails, picnicking, fishing and a restaurant.

KOA Kampgrounds

In north Georgia, you can stay at two KOA Kampgrounds, in Calhoun or Cartersville, both of which are located convenient to Interstate75. Near the mountains is the site in Calhoun, with horseback riding trails, swimming, bicycle rentals, a fishing pond, food and family-friendly attractions like pony rides, a petting zoo, hayrides and a game room. In Cartersville, their camp features a swimming pool and playground. At either you can stay in a tent, RV or cabin, offering wireless Internet and cable television.

Northeast Georgia Mountains

The Northeast Georgia Mountains has dozens of RV parks, state parks and campgrounds itself. In Helen is Unicoi State Park and Lodge, with 82 tent and RV sites, cottages and a lodge and conference center. It also features a 53-acre lake for swimming and fishing, four tennis courts, hiking and biking trails and birding. In Tallulah Falls along U.S. Highway 441 near North Carolina, visit Tallulah Gorge State Park for views of a 1,000-foot deep gorge, fishing and swimming on a 63-acre lake and 50 campsites.
