Triathlon Indiglo watches have many uses.

Timex released its first Ironman watch in 1984. In 1992, the Timex Ironman received a new lighting system based on electroluminescence called the Indiglo lighting system that consumed less power than other watch illumination systems. It seems that almost everyone, from doctors to professional athletes, owns a Timex Triathlon watch with Indiglo lighting. Features common on all models of the Timex Triathlon Indiglo watch are 100-hour chronograph and chronograph recall, multiple lap storage, programmable alarms, multiple time zones, day and date display, 12-hour or 24-hour display and Indiglo illumination. The watch contains four buttons: Stop/Reset, Indiglo, Mode, and Set/Recall.

Press the Mode button until you are in Time mode, and then press and hold the Set/Recall button to set the time zone, month, day and 12-hour or 24-hour time display. The time zone will flash; press + or -- to select the first or second time zone. Press Next to display the hour and press + or -- to select the correct hour, including AM or PM. When finished, press Next and press + or -- to select the correct minutes, seconds and day of week.

Press the Mode button repeatedly until Alarm appears and press Set/Recall to set the alarm and press + or -- to change the hour. Press Next to continue setting the minutes, AM/PM setting and the daily, weekdays or weekends setting and press Done to confirm and exit.

Press the Mode button repeatedly until Timer appears and press Set/Recall to set the timer. When the hour digits flash, press + or -- to set the hour. To continue setting the minutes and seconds, press Next and select between "Repeat at End" or "Stop at End" and press Done to confirm and exit.

Press the Mode button repeatedly until Chrono appears and press Set/Recall to set the chronograph. The display will read Format/Set, then Lap/Spl and then Spl/Lap; make your selections using + or -- and press Done to confirm and exit. To start the timing, press Start/Split and press Stop/Reset to stop the chronograph from running or to take a split time, press Start/Split.

Press and hold Indiglo for four seconds to activate the Night Mode feature. Once activated, you can push any button to activate the Indiglo light to display for three seconds.

Tips

  • Lap and split times will appear frozen for ten seconds. Press Mode to release the display and go back to the running chronograph.
  • To scroll through split or lap times, press Set/Recall then press + or -- to display the desired splits or laps.
