Identify an Onon generator from the serial number found on the name or faceplate.

Cummins Onan manufactures generators used in recreational vehicles and on boats. To order the correct generator parts or manuals, you need to know the model and specifications of the generator. If you cannot read the model and specifications from the generator's nameplate, contact Cummins Onan with the serial number of the generator set. If none of this information is available, take the generator to the nearest Cummins Onan dealer or distributor.

Read the information on the nameplate. If you can read the nameplate, locate the model number, generator specifications and serial number. These items are clearly labeled.

Locate the serial number stamped on the generator. If you cannot read the nameplate, the serial number is stamped onto the block of the generator. It is 10 characters, composed of both letters and digits.

Call the Cummins Onan Customer Response Center at 1-800-888-6626. They can help you identify the model and specifications for your Onan generator. If you can't find the serial number, they can also help explain where to look for it.

Contact your local Cummins Onan distributor or dealer. Use the Cummins Onan Dealer Locator or call 1-800-888-6626 to find the nearest distributor or dealer (see Resources).
