Read the information on the nameplate. If you can read the nameplate, locate the model number, generator specifications and serial number. These items are clearly labeled.
Locate the serial number stamped on the generator. If you cannot read the nameplate, the serial number is stamped onto the block of the generator. It is 10 characters, composed of both letters and digits.
Call the Cummins Onan Customer Response Center at 1-800-888-6626. They can help you identify the model and specifications for your Onan generator. If you can't find the serial number, they can also help explain where to look for it.
