The city of Mesa provides just the ticket for those seeking a warm getaway in the Arizona desert. Several RV parks in the city cater to adults 55 and older, letting you enjoy outdoor activities in Arizona's warm weather in the company of mature adults. The parks provide a resort environment with heated pools, sport courts and planned activities designed for the over-55 crowd.
In the Center of Town
The majority of Mesa's over-55 RV parks stretch along Main Street and University between Lindsay and Higley Roads, an area about 3 miles long and a mile wide. Cal Am Resorts have five age-qualified RV resorts for guests over 55 in this area: Val Vista Village, Sun Life Resort, Good Life Resort, Mesa Regal Resort and Towerpoint. Each park provides full hookups, showers and laundry as well as a variety of activities geared toward the interests of the over-55 set. Swim in a heated pool, work out in the fitness center, or play a round of pickleball. The resorts have park models available for sale if you decide you want to make the city your new home.
Close to Golf
Pack your clubs if you're heading to Apache Wells RV Resort just across the road from the Longbow Golf Club. The resort has an active golf club, and members head out on day trips to play area courses. It lies in the northern part of Mesa where you'll still find some of the city's famous citrus groves. Take a ride in an authentic World War II Warbird at Falcon Field, a training base during the war. Apache Wells provides all the amenities Cal Am Resorts are known for, including roomy sites with barbecue grills, sport courts, swimming, fitness rooms and a business center.
The West End
Mesa Spirit has 1,800 RV sites spacious enough for the largest rigs. The park is pet-friendly, with pet sites situated around the outer boundaries of the park next to dog-walking areas. The over-55 resort has three swimming pools and five heated spas. Practice your golf swing at the putting green and driving cage. Lighted tennis and shuffleboard courts let you enjoy your favorite games even after the sun goes down, and you'll also find billiards, horseshoe pits, fitness rooms and a library on-site. If you don't have an RV, you can rent or buy an in-park unit.
In the Superstition's Shadow
Enjoy views of the Superstition Mountains on Mesa's east side. Valle del Oro RV Resort at Ellsworth and Loop 202 gives you easy access to the area's sites. The park has two heated pools and spas as well as sport courts and activities to let you enjoy Mesa's warm weather. Get creative with your desert finds at the wood shop and lapidary, join a hiking or biking group for a desert adventure or hit the sport courts for a rousing game.
