How to Return a Gun to Gander Mountain

by Eric Cedric

Gander Mountain is a retailer of hunting, fishing and outdoor adventure supplies. Gander Mountain carries a full range of hunting weapons, including shotguns, rifles and handguns. The company has a very strict return policy when dealing with guns. In order to return a gun, you must follow these return policies to the letter.

  1. Bring your original receipt showing the gun was purchased at Gander Mountain and the unopened gun in the original packaging to a Gander Mountain retail store.

  2. Check in with the front door greeter and show her you are bringing in a weapon to the store. Let the clerk assist you in bringing the gun to the return/customer service counter.

  3. Fill out the needed return forms provided by the Gander Mountain staff. Only unopened and unused guns will be accepted for returns. Handguns are not returnable -- only rifles and shotguns.

  4. Present the counter staff with your government-issued driver's license or ID card. If the gun was purchased with a credit card, present it to the counter staff so a credit can be placed on the card.

Items you will need

  • Original receipt
  • Unused gun in original, unopened packaging

  • Gander Mountain will not accept handguns or used guns for returns. All rifle and shotgun returns must be unused and in the original packaging.
