If you are trying to catch a fish, you will have a better chance if there is an attractant on your hook to draw the fish in. If you wish to make your own homemade fish attractant using garlic powder, there is a cheesy garlic fish bait dough that you can make using a few simple ingredients. The bait is potent, and will have powerful effects in the water to attract fish and help you get a catch.
Combine 1 cup plus 1 tsp. water, 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 cup cornmeal, 1/4 cup sugar, 1 tbsp. of garlic powder, and 2 ounces of melted cheddar cheese in a mixing bowl. Mix with your hands until you have a thick dough.
Roll the dough into small individual balls, about 1/8-inch wide.
Fill a saucepan halfway with water and bring to a boil.
Drop the dough balls into the boiling water and allow them to cook for one minute.
Strain the dough balls out and let them drain on a plate lined with paper towels.
Stick a dough ball over your hook when you go fishing to attract fish.
