Strawberry Jell-o is a key ingredient in homemade catfish bait. According to Bobberstop.com, such homemade bait uses just basic household ingredients and requires very little preparation time, making it a simple and affordable alternative to store-bought baits.

Combine the instant oatmeal, strawberry Jell-o and water in large bowl.

Stir the ingredients together until well blended.

Pour the mixture into a plastic bag and seal tightly.

Press the mixture into a flat slab and let it sit for two to three days.

Roll the mixture into marble-sized balls and attach one ball to each hook to use as bait.

Items you will need

  • 2 cups instant oatmeal
  • 3 ounces strawberry Jell-o
  • 1 cup water
  • Ziploc plastic bag
  • Large bowl
  • Spoon

Tip

  • If the mixture does not hold together well, try rolling it into individual balls and chilling them in the refrigerator for one hour to help them set.
